Lumphini Park is one of the most popular parks in the heart of Thailand’s capital. It is a 142-acre green and urban space in one of the busiest cities in the world. It is an incredible place to visit, sit, exercise, and embark on a wide range of activities.
Enjoy the food
Lumphini Park is dotted with various food carts from which you can enjoy some local food and treats. The food carts are scattered throughout the part although the zone around the main entrance is where you will find the widest selection. Note that most of the vendors close by noon because their primary customer are those that use the park in the morning for running.
Eyes down for lizard watching!
Lumphini Park is also locally known for housing some of the most incredible giant lizards. The lizard’s saunter around the lake next to the park. Some of the lizards are so big you might mistake them for small dragons. Any worries parents may have should be easily quashed as they are all completely harmless so long as they do not feel threatened, which is not something a visitor to the park presents to them.
Hop on a boat ride
There are boats that you can rent to ride on the lake, a really enjoyable activity to do with friends and family.
Get in shape with a group workout
The park is well-known for attracting numerous exercise enthusiasts who gather in groups around the park. If you are visiting Bangkok and are looking for a place to workout, Lumphini park is a great open-air option. Most yoga, tai chi, Zumba, and aerobics gatherings happen between 5 and 6 in the evening.
Best time to visit
Any time is a good time to visit the park, but on weekends you are most likely to find group exercise classes and club gatherings.
